I agree 100%! At least in recent years, there’s been a concerted effort to reduce the stigma around mental illness, but money and resources to support our veterans is woefully lacking.
Bll point pen day, indeed! And I am honored to shine any spotlight on the branches of our country's Armed Services and those who have served. I am thankful to your son and daughter and hate they are dealing with PTSD.
I can't even imagine anyone who has served in a combat zone NOT having
PTSD! My military family (parents WWII, my brother and husband Viet Nam, brother Desert Storm I, son and daughter DS 2, son-in-law DS2, and earlier generations back to the US Civil War) all had serious lifetime issues to deal with. This country doesn't do enough for those who served.
I thought I had replied to this, so forgive me if this is a duplicate. While we’ve made some progress in society in terms of de-stigmatizing mental illness, we haven’t done nearly enough to provide resources and money for research and support for our veterans.
This was such a FRESH post! First, thank you so much for always providing a guide to the special days we can celebrate each month. How apropos that “Baby Boomers Recognition Day,” coincides with m’birthday 🙌
Also, I’m super excited for the added content coming each month! I’ve cast my vote and whatever this section is called, it’s going to be a huge success!
Finally, I’m SO looking forward to the upcoming feature of our immensely talented friend and very own Papergoddess, @BarbaraBurnDore’. I’m continually amazed by her artistic ability. Can I share a long-held secret? The only thing I’ve ever really wanted for my birthday is to receive one of her beautifully crafted notes 😉💖
Lisa, your comments always make me smile and are such welcome affirmations of the effort I put into researching and writing these posts. Thanks for voting in the poll! And as to your birthday wish, who knows...sometimes wishes DO come true ;-).

Ball point pen day...who knew? Thanks for calling attention to the military stamps. My combat PTSD son and daughter thank you, too.

Bahahahaha, true, true 😁
Heading to the post office this morning and excited to buy some of the forever military stamps.
I’m going to do that too. They are so handsome!
