June 2025 Calendar for Note and Letter Writers
...and some fun epistolary finds from around the Internet
If you’d rather listen than read:
“Dear friend, A Letter always feels to me like immortality because it is the mind alone without corporeal friend.”
~ Emily Dickinson to her friend T.W. Higginson, co-editor of her first two volumes of poetry
June, 1869
Pull out your own calendar right now and jot down who comes to mind when you read this June calendar for note and letter writers. June 1 is National Pen Pal Day, and I’m planning a post later this summer for those who’ve been on the fence about finding a pen pal and want some pros and cons. Stay tuned…
Some note-writing lagniappe
In Cajun Southwest Louisiana, the word “lagniappe” means “something a little extra” thrown in to add taste, value, or fun. I plan to include a section each month with this kind of content to add a little lagniappe to your heartspoken note writing life. Let’s get started:
New Forever ® stamps to commemorate 250th anniversaries of the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Get them at your local post office or from the USPS Postal Store.
"These stamps serve as a powerful reminder of the enduring legacy and unwavering dedication of the women and men who have built and sustained the United States Army, Navy and Marine Corps for the past 250 years. As we commemorate this significant milestone, we honor their courage, their commitment and their vital role in safeguarding the freedoms we hold dear."
~ Jeffery Adams, USPS corporate communications VP

🗳 Help Me Choose a Name!
I'll be adding a new section like the one above each month to The HEARTSPOKEN Note—along with the monthly Calendar for Note and Letter Writers. I'll share interesting finds related to notes, letters, and the many delightful things that orbit around them: stamps, stationery, papermaking, folding techniques, old texts and letters, artwork, music, and more. I want you to weigh in on a name!
I've narrowed it down to five possible titles, but I’d love your input. Please vote below, and comments are welcome
Coming up…
Next week, I’m thrilled to have the very talented
share her experience writing heartspoken notes through a nonprofit organization called “Love Our Elders.” Barbara is known for her incredible paper and lettering artwork as “Papergoddess” in our Facebook group “The Art of the Heartspoken Note.” Don’t miss it!Thanks for reading, because readers like you are the support for this publication. This weekly newsletter is always free, but paid subscribers not only support my work and get discounts on my courses, but they also get the value-packed monthly Action Plan as well as access to past action plans. Taken together, these are the equivalent of master’s level training in note writing.
Have a great week, and always remember: whether written or spoken,
words from the heart will never fail you!
Ball point pen day...who knew? Thanks for calling attention to the military stamps. My combat PTSD son and daughter thank you, too.
This was such a FRESH post! First, thank you so much for always providing a guide to the special days we can celebrate each month. How apropos that “Baby Boomers Recognition Day,” coincides with m’birthday 🙌
Also, I’m super excited for the added content coming each month! I’ve cast my vote and whatever this section is called, it’s going to be a huge success!
Finally, I’m SO looking forward to the upcoming feature of our immensely talented friend and very own Papergoddess, @BarbaraBurnDore’. I’m continually amazed by her artistic ability. Can I share a long-held secret? The only thing I’ve ever really wanted for my birthday is to receive one of her beautifully crafted notes 😉💖
