Yes! Thankfully, the teaching of cursive IS making a comeback in many places. It boggles my mind that it was ever removed from any curriculum. Now there is irrefutable evidence as to its efficacy in learning, reading, and other cognitive skills. Thanks for sharing this!

Oh I agree 100%! In fact, I'd like to offer another reason: writing in cursive helps the brain memorize words! As a music artist with a terrible short-term memory who needs to memorize lyrics for performance, I found the answer is to write them out longhand (cursive). Works like a charm!

Thank you so much for this valuable addition to my reasons for teaching cursive, Judy. It makes perfect sense. And I should have made the connection myself. I can remember the words to songs I learned as a girl and teenager, and many times (before computers), I copies those lyrics by hand into a notebook. Now I know why they stick with me when I can't remember the name of someone I met yesterday!
