Day #6: Thinking of You Week
Today's Prompt: Write to a teacher or someone who helped you in the past
I’ll bet someone’s name instantly popped into your mind when you read today’s prompt. At my age, my school teachers have mostly passed on, but perhaps you know their spouse or grown children.
Who else has made a difference in your life and would be touched by a note from you? Consider these:
An employer who took a chance on hiring you
A neighbor who showed up when you had a house fire
A friend who brought a thermos of coffee when your power had been out all night
A colleague who covered you at work when you needed it
A friend who still remembered to call long after your spouse died
A stranger who helped you when you tripped on the subway step (I know it’s highly unlikely you’ll have a name and address for this one, but take a moment to send them a spontaneous spark of gratitude.)
If someone else entirely comes to mind, write to them and forget today’s prompt. I’d love to hear who you decided to write to and why! I’ll be posting my own daily activities in my Substack NOTES and my Facebook group, “The Art of the Heartspoken Note.”
