Day #3: Happiness, Heart, & Color: National Stationery Week
Art conveys energy -- two more of my favorite stationery artists
To celebrate National Stationery Week and spread the #HeartspokenMovement, I’m shining a daily spotlight on a few of my favorite stationery artists/companies. When you have stationery you love, you’re much more likely to grab a piece and send a note! Today, I’m featuring two wonderful notecard artists: Lori Portka and Karen R. Sanderson.
Lori Portka: Happiness through Art
Lori’s work is brimming with color, energy, and love! I believe that artwork carries energy. Her philosophy is painted into every creation:
“I believe that artwork carries energy. I believe it is my job to spread happiness through the art I create. I believe art made with the intention to spread love and healing does exactly that.”
I buy her cards through her Etsy Shop, and once you get on her mailing list, you’ll be notified when things go on sale. You’ll also enjoy perusing her website.
Karen R. Sanderson: Heart and Color
Many of you know Karen as my co-administrator of “The Art of the Heartspoken Note” Facebook group. I first knew her as an editor and writer, and I credit her with making my own writing much better than it used to be. Happily, her creative talents include art, and she has some lovely work that she’s made into notecards and prints.
Karen is an editor, proofreader, blogger, poet, writer, and a fabulous grandma. She’s completed writing, art, and sign language coursework through UCLA, Santa Fe Community College, University of New Mexico, Minot State University, and she has a degree from Lake Region State College in Interpreting and Sign Language Studies.
Karen’s short stories have been featured in The Rose & Thorn Journal, Every Child is Entitled to Innocence anthology, Valley Living Magazine, BewilderingStories.com, and WritingRaw.com.
Her first collection – “No Boundaries, A Collection of Poetry” – is available on Amazon.
