My dear Heartspoken friends:
On this sacred night, the world seems to pause, cloaked in quiet wonder. Perhaps your home is bustling with loved ones, or maybe it is hushed with solitude. Wherever you are right now, as you read or listen to this, stop just a moment and open your heart. There’s a profound beauty in this time—a reminder of the mystery of Christmas and the timeless connections that bind us together.
Handwritten notes from the heart—heartspoken—have a way of conveying more than words. They hold whispers of love, echoes of memories, and traces of our hearts. Just as the shepherds of old brought humble gifts to the manger, our simple notes can be offerings of light and love to others.
Tonight, if you feel moved, take a moment to write a few words to someone dear but distant. Tell them you’re thinking of them, share a favorite memory, or wish them peace and joy. It’s okay if your note is short…and it might even be imperfect. Just make it real and true. Imagine your note as a candle, bringing light to someone’s heart this Christmas Eve.
Slow down and savor this magical time of year. John and I are enjoying a visit from our daughter and her husband. Tonight, we’ll attend our Episcopal church’s Christmas Eve service. Tomorrow, on Christmas Day, we’ll Facetime with our son and grandsons in London and with my 99-year-old mother.
Whatever your faith tradition, I wish you peace, love, and hope. May the season's holiness and warmth surround you, and may the gift of connection lift and strengthen your heart.
Thank you for being part of the Heartspoken community.
Merry Christmas with love,
Elizabeth
